My January 2020 Favorites!

January is just flying by, we are only one more week to February, this is crazy! I wanted to share some of my personal must-haves that I have been keeping super close to me throughout this month. I live in NY and it’s been ridiculously cold. This time of year is generally where my skin is at its most dry and sensitive point. To combat the cold, I have been drenching myself in hydrating skincare products each morning and evening. I have been reaching for almost all cream products this month! Super hydrating skincare and super creamy hydrating makeup. Cream products are great during the winter for many reasons but my favorite is that they don’t emphasize the dryness or any fine lines. They melt into the skin leaving you look hydrated and glowing – My personal favorite look all year round!

Primer

My must-have product that has been a top pick of mine for the past 5 years has been the Bobbi Brown Vitamin Enriched Face Base! It’s almost as if you are spreading a rich butter across your skin in the best way! It smells absolutely divine, like fresh citrus goodness. It feels like luxury on your skin and gives you amazing hydration that does not clog your pores. It has been my favorite product under foundation – It’s a product I always keep a back up of in my makeup drawer for myself and one jar for my clients. It’s definitely a must-try if you haven’t already!

Foundation

My top pick foundation that I have been keeping in my makeup bag has been the Mac Cosmetics face and body foundation ( I wear shade C1). I love this foundation because it is almost undetectable on the skin. It melts into the skin and evens out any discoloration! I do want to mention it is quite a sheer to light coverage so if you have any blemishes you might want something with either more coverage or, what I do is just add a full coverage concealer on top to cover any blemishes I might have.

Concealer

I have 2 favorites in this category – I couldn’t decide!

  1. Bobbi Brown Full Coverage Concealer ( I wear shade Beige). This concealer is super creamy and blends out so well and has great coverage. I have been using this product for years and has been my go-to for years for myself and my clients.
  2. Glossier Stretch Concealer ( I wear shade G11). This was a new discovery for me within the past 6 months but it has quickly become a personal favorite of mine. It is super creamy and leaves the skin looking dewy and super hydrated. This concealer I would say has medium coverage, not as much as the Bobbi Brown Full Coverage Concealer.

Bronzer

This category is an easy one for me! It is the Milk Makeup Cream Bronzer in Baked. This product is an item I will forever keep in my personal makeup kit and my client makeup kit. This color works on so many skin tones and it the perfect bronzer shade. It’s not an orange or a red-based bronzer, it’s a perfect medium bronze tone that will work for almost everyone with light to medium skin tones. They also have a deeper shade in Blaze for medium to deep skin tones!

Blush

I have a few blushes that I have been loving lately but the one I have been reaching for the most this month has definitely been the Milk Makeup cream Lip and Cheek Stick in Werk. I love this product because it’s a creamy, buttery texture that blends out like a dream. It’s the perfect dusty rose shade which works well with my skin tone! I use this on my cheeks lips and eyes! It’s a gorgeous product.

Setting Powder

During the winter months, I typically do not use any setting powder due to my already super dry skin BUT if I do it is always the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder. It is the one setting powder that has stood the test of time for me and my clients.

Mascara

I use a lot of mascaras but this month my favorite has been the Tarte Cosmetics Maneater Mascara. It gives great separation and volume!

Brows

Ardell Micro Brow Pencil – This is a super-fine brow twist-up pencil that just glides on. It has great staying power and is less than $10! I have tried so so many brow pencils and products but I have found none that I love more.

Lip

I have been using the Bobbi Brown Crushed Liquid Lip colors. I have about 4 or so of them and they have been a lip saver for me! They are super nourishing with great color pay off. The texture is very different than anything I’ve really tried before, very hydrating like a balm but also like a non-sticky lip gloss? I love them. Definitely a great winter lip product.

What have your favorites been this month? Do you have any recommendations that I should try?

Thanks again for stopping by! I hope you all have a great week!!
