Spring Makeup in February!?
I know we are only in the first week of February but Hey – we have had a couple of beautiful days in a row and I just feel springy , what can I say?! Lol But pulling out those brighter lipsticks can really change a whole makeup look. For spring, I love taking my everyday makeup and adding a fun lip color to it with a pop of color on my cheeks! It can brighten up any day! Because I always prefer more of a monochrome look, ( it just brings the whole look together in my opinion ) I always try to match my blush with my lipstick! Now If you don’t have a blush to match or a blush at all – don’t fret! You can take any lipstick and turn it into a cream blush! There is a couple ways you could do this:
- Apply the lipstick straight from the bullet onto your cheeks and blend it out.
- Apply the lipstick onto the back of your hand and grab a cheek brush (or foundation brush, I prefer a foundation brush because its more dense and designed for cream products) and apply it gently from the brush onto your cheeks.
- This one is my favorite – If the lip color is super bright and/or pigmented and you want a more muted version of that color – all you do is add a teeny amount of your liquid foundation onto the back of your hand and mix it with whatever lip color you chose. Scribble the lipstick till you get a good little paste going and mix the two together with your finger, Add as much foundation as you choose to mute out the color as much as you prefer! This is one of my favorite makeup artist tricks!
What are some of your favorite spring pieces in your makeup collection? Let me know what I should try next!
