3 Easy Steps to Long Lasting Wedding Guest Makeup

This summer is filled with weddings! Wedding Guest Makeup sometimes can be challenging because you want to look fresh and radiant but you also want your makeup to last all day. Many weddings are also outside this time of year so it’s difficult to know what will last and look good in photos from morning till night. This post will be my must-haves for wedding guest makeup!

Step One – Skin Prep – this is KEY!

You want to start your skin with something hydrating but also keep you matte in the places you want to keep matte, all day. For this step, I like to start with a good hydrating moisturizer. For weddings, I start with a pea size of the Tatcha Dewy Skin Cream. This cream is super hydrating, plumping, and silky, great for a base before foundation. After I am fully moisturized I grab my favorite Bobbi Brown Primer Plus Mattifier.  I add this to the center of the face where I experience the most oil throughout the day. This will help ensure your skin stays as matte as possible even into the evening. It’s gorgeous to have a glow to the skin but you don’t want to end up looking like an oily mess on your nose and chin by 8 pm LOL!

Step Two – Base – Foundation / Blush / Bronzer

Now that your skin is hydrated and prepared it’s time for foundation. My forever go-to foundation for a longgg day is the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation. This is foolproof, lasts ALL DAY, and leaves the skin looking better and better throughout the day. Anddd it stays put!! I tried this foundation probably 8 years ago and I always go back to it, It will forever be a staple in my makeup wardrobe.

Blush and Bronzer – For a long day I always double up on my blush and bronzer. What does that mean? This means I use a cream and powder for both blush and bronzer. This will ensure it stays in place all day long. I start with my creams always, these will melt into your skin and look flawless, like it was your flush all along. After the cream bronzer and blush are applied I add a powder bronzer and a powder blush. This is twofold, it will help enhance the color AND set the cream color in place ensuring all-day wear. My Current favorite cream bronzer is the Nudestix Cream Bronzer in Bondi Bae. This bronzer blends out so seamlessly and warms up the skin giving a perfect summer bronze. For blush, I have been using the Nars Liquid blush in shades Orgasm and Dolce Vita.

Step Three – Set that Skin

My two loves for setting the skin in place for the day is the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder. This works on just about every skin color/tone/type. It will set your skin for a full day of food and dancing. Lastly, I add a setting spray. The setting spray I am currently in love with is the Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Spray. This brings life into the skin and gives a fresh glowy all-day set. It is the perfect finishing touch for an all day beautiful makeup look.
