April Favorites – Skincare and Makeup for New Mamas!

Happy May! I cannot believe April has come and gone already! How has the time flown by so fast? I feel like someone pushed the fast forward button on life, and we are almost to summer? So crazy!

This is my first full year as a first-time mama, and I am finally starting to get into the groove of things. My little boy has just turned one, and I am finally finding a few moments for myself during the day. It has been so interesting trying to find myself again, but really finding who I am now as a mom. I am definitely not the same person I was a year ago! I am loving mom life, loving being home with my baby, and loving having a teeny best friend to love and take care of each day. If I had known how wonderful motherhood was, I would have started a long time ago!! Give me alllll the babies! LOL Anyone else with me? It is the most challenging but also the most rewarding gift I have ever been blessed with.

The past couple of months, I have been finally able to apply my skincare and makeup for fun! If I am completely honest with you, before now, I really didn’t care much to apply much of anything, I just didn’t have the time or energy. But these past few months have been so amazing, finding time for myself has been such a game-changer. I love the way I look and feel when I make time for a little makeup and skincare!

Here are my April Skincare and makeup must-haves!

I have about 5 pieces that I just keep reaching for! They are the creamiest, dreamiest, and easiest to apply!

I have been starting with the Rhode Glazing Milk! This is such a juicy, hydrating skincare step. I am so dry and this has been such a favorite. I love the texture, it is like a rich milky glaze! It is as if a serum and a moisturizer had a baby! Just perfect. It has been my morning skincare staple. It is my all-in-one serum and moisturizer!
I then go in with some concealer. Foundation is for when we get dressed up and leave the house. If I am home all day or having a play date with my baby boy, I generally stick with just a good concealer. The one I have been using non-stop is the Lancome Teint Idole Ultra Wear All Over Full Coverage Concealer. This is just gorgeous. This concealer is creamy, super blendable, looks great under the eyes, but also looks gorgeous all over for more coverage if you have any redness or irritation. Honestly, this is one of the best concealers on the market if you ask me!
– side note – If I do use a foundation, the Bobbi Brown Foundation Stick has been my lifesaver! It is so easy to use, super creamy and blendable, with buildable coverage. It is also so easy to use on the go and just a great throw-in your bag staple makeup item.
For some warmth on my skin, I have been using the Nudestix bronzer in Bondi Bae. This is an absolute staple in my personal makeup kit, but also in my professional makeup kit. The color is perfect, not too warm or cool. It is super creamy, buildable, and blends out so easily.
For color, I have been obsessed with the Rhode Pocket Blush! I cannot get enough of these blushes. The formula is so so good! It is creamy and just juicy on the cheeks! I have one in every color, you will LOVE these blushes! I have tried so so many formulas but these are just the best, I am hooked!
For the last step of my makeup and skincare for the day – I do a good curl of my lashes! No mascara or anything, just a good curl. The best curler ever is the Shiseido Eyelash Curler. This gives such lasting lift! You will love the results! Obsessed!

Three honorable mentions that I just have to share are the gorgeous Summer Fridays Lip Butter Balm ( This is so hydrating and juicy on the lips), The Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter ( for the days you need the skin to really be skinning – if you know what I mean 😉 I see you mamas with 3 hours of sleep and still smiling LOL), and lastly the Violette FR Lip Balm for a little color when you feel like you need a pick me up!

As you can tell, the creamier, the more blendable the product, the better for me LOL! I just like an easy, glowy routine that brings life and a healthy glow to the skin. If that is what you’re looking for, these will be perfect for you! They are just so good! I hope this helps in your mom journey! I know it’s hard to find a few moments for yourself in the chaos of the day, but it is worth it! You deserve it, and you will feel so much better for it!
