July Favorites
July has been a beautiful month, hasn’t it? The sunshine has been much needed and I have been loving having a little color! July has been filled with some great multitasking products! I love having a few go-to products that can be used in multiple ways. It keeps your makeup bag tidy and a reasonable size. It also saves you from buying a ton of different products. And let’s be honest, when your in and out of the sun and the pool all day, who wants to put a full face of makeup on anyways? Not me!
I have a few makeup items and a few skincare items I have been using and loving this month!
Skincare
I wanted to start off with the Fresh Kombucha Antioxidant Facial Treatment Essence – I have always thought Essences were a very gimmicky product. They don’t really fall into the standard skincare categories and I wasn’t really sure where to apply them or even what they were for. I had a few recommendations to try this product and I had been eyeing it for a while, so I took the plunge. I ordered a smaller size (1.6oz) to give it a try. And I have to say, I have been loving it! I use it after I cleanse my face, on a fresh cotton pad before my serum and moisturizer. I use it every morning and every other night before bed ( when I remember it, hence every other day haha). I have noticed my skin has had a difference in hydration, glow, my pigmentation has gone down, and my little breakouts have been getting better. It is definitely an investment product. But I would say, look it up, read the reviews, and see if it’s something that would work for you! For me, I have been loving it! If you have been on the fence about it, I would say, give it a try. It has definitely made a difference in my skin.
The Kora Organics Balancing Rose Mist has been a go-to product for me! I love applying this before and after I apply my skincare in the morning! I have noticed there has been a significant difference in applying my skincare on dry skin than on damp skin! Whether you use the Kora Organics Rose Mist or another facial mist, I would definitely recommend giving this technique a try! Applying a facial mist before applying your skincare really plumps the skin, gives you a boost of hydration, and helps the skincare apply more smoothly, evenly, and helps the product sink in before applying your makeup. Makeup wise, I have noticed a huge difference! When I apply a facial mist before my foundation it has again, made my skin plump, allows the foundation to apply more smoothly, it doesn’t stick to any dry patches on my skin, and really gives the skin a natural radiance. A facial mist is also a great multi-tasking product! You can use this as a skincare item, it is a great thing to keep in the fridge and spritz yourself during a hot summer day to keep your skin refreshed and hydrated. You also can apply this after your makeup application! If you are using a lot of powder products, spritz yourself a few times and it will help the powder products to look hydrated and more natural. It will help reduce the “powdery” look!
The Exuviance Age Reverse Day Repair SPF 30 is an amazing moisturizer and SPF product! I love this on days where I want to do as little as possible. Apply this product after your serums, before your foundation! It will give you hydration, SPF, and your skin will thank you! I love this formula. It is not too heavy or too light. This one specifically is more of an investment product but you can always sub this for another moisturizer/SPF combo! I have found that for me, this one really gives my dry skin what it needs and also works year-round under my makeup.
Supergoop Glow Stick SPF 50 is my favorite summer skincare product of all! This is the consistency of an oil but in stick form. I apply this before my makeup on the outer perimeters of my skin and blend in. I apply this where I would normally apply my highlighter and then blend towards the center of my face. Because it is summertime and I normally get a little oily in my T-Zone, I don’t apply too much of this glowy product there. I love this product because it truly gives your skin a gorgeous glow! Your skin will look hydrated and almost wet! I love it. I also apply this after my makeup as a highlighter. This product is totally clear. It doesn’t have any shimmer in it. I love that it gives the skin that glass glow. It also has SPF 50, so go ahead and apply as much of this puppy as you want! It will keep you protected and glassy all day!
Makeup
Bare Minerals bareSkin Complete Coverage Serum Concealer is a gorgeous concealer but also foundation! On days when I want simplicity, good coverage, and glowing skin I reach for this product! It is a beautiful product year-round but especially during summer. It is super blendable, medium to high coverage, and works on normal, combination, to dry skin types. I use shade Fair during the winter months and shade Light during the summer. This is a super hydrating concealer, It has a serum consistency. This is a well-loved product in my makeup bag!
Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi™ Anti-Pollution Sunshine Drops are a staple for me for so many reasons, these can be used in so many ways! You can add a pump to any of your foundations to create a deeper shade for summer, you can use this as a liquid bronzer, and you can also mix this with your primer and apply this before your foundation to give you a bronzy base! I also love the texture of this product. It is creamy and super pigmented, a little goes a long way! You can even apply a pump of this in your SPF and call it a day! Such a gorgeous product!
Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge in Fresh Melon is the most perfect summer multi-tasker! This is a gorgeously lush, fresh summer coral that you can use on your lips and cheeks to give you a hydrated flush of color! Bobbi Brown Pot Rouges are a product I have used and loved for many many years and will always keep in my makeup wardrobe. They are amazing to keep in your handbag or gym bag for a quick all in one touch up! The shade Fresh Melon for summer tho is stunning. It’s a juicy, natural coral tone that is flattering on so many skin tones!
Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel is a very easy, simple brow product that enhances color and volume! I love this product because it’s fail-proof. The brush is super tiny which makes it easy to apply the product to your brows and not all over the skin. The formula is great too, very long-wearing! I need all the help in the brow department because I have like 5 brow hairs! Ugh haha
