Mascara Mania 

Mascara is an essential part of any makeup application. Even when you don’t put on a full face of makeup , just adding mascara can change your whole look! Mascara opens up the eyes and draws attention to your eyes. Because I love mascara so much, I am on the hunt for the perfect full, fluffy , fat, fake lash – mascara! I have been trying new mascaras just about every other week! It has truly been a journey for me to really find the perfect fit. I have found that , for me, a lot of mascaras flake or if they don’t flake it doesn’t give me much volume or pigment… I have tried over 15 mascaras in the past 6-12 months and I wanted to share my experience with a few –  which ones I loved & which ones I definitely didn’t.

So let’s start with what did work –   

1. Tarte – Maneater – I truly loved this one, It did a great job of separating the lashes but still giving great volume. 
2. Tarte – Big Ego – This was a really nice mascara, at first it wasn’t my favorite, it was a thin watery formula. But after a couple of uses the mascara got drier ( in a good way) and you are able to build your lashes up and get great fluffy, full lashes. 
3. Benefit Cosmetics – Bad Girl Bang – This mascara I have repurchased several times so far, I love this mascara, the wand is long and spikey. It Separates the lashes and gives great volume, length, and does not flake, at all! A big win for me! 

The mascaras I did not like so much…

1. Tarte – Lights Camera Lashes – This one I really wanted to fall in love with but it turned out to be a no- go. It flaked like crazy and dried out super fast. It gives the lashes a nice look, thick at the root but not much for lengthening. 
2. Bobbi Brown – Smokey Eye Mascara – This is a sad one for me to talk about because if you know me, you know I love everything Bobbi Brown. This mascara starts off great, makes your lashes look full, thick, and fluffy. I really liked it for the first week of it but it dried out super super fast and flakes more than any other mascara I have ever tried. I have purchased it twice to see if it was just my tube but it wasn’t, the second mascara, same thing happened. So this one is a definite no for me, sadly. 
3. Lancome – Monsieur Big Mascara – I had seen this on instagram a few times and figured, why not give it a go! For me it didn’t do much at all.I did not feel like I was getting any volume or any length. It was kind of ehh for me, just wasn’t anything special… and it flaked. So I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this one either. 

I feel mascara is one of those makeup pieces that are very much personal preference. I love thick, full, long, fake looking lashes. Basically I want to look like I have lash extensions on without actually applying them! Is that too much to ask? Lolol I have found a few that have come very close, but still will continue my hunt for the perfect one! What are your favorites? Do you have any recommendations that I should try?
