Summer SPF Favorites

This post is all about the best summer SPF’S to protect your skin from the hot summer sun! These are must haves for your makeup bag this summer!

Sunscreen protects us from the sun’s harmful ultraviolet rays. UVB rays ( I remember this by the “B” for “Burn”) are responsible for sunburn. UVA rays, on the other hand, penetrate deeper into the skin. These rays can lead to long-term effects like wrinkling, premature aging, sun spots, dry skin, and can lead to skin cancer.

My Top 5 favorite SPF’s on the market right now are:

1. Dermalogica Prisma Protect SPF 30, if you follow me you will see this one a lot on my page! This product is full of antioxidants and moisture magnets to help fight off pollution, has a high SPF of 30, and to keep your skin super hydrated. It is my all-time favorite face cream/SPF combo. It’s super creamy and leaves the skin hydrated with a luxe glow! It is the perfect blend of skincare and spf!
2. Bare Minerals COMPLEXION RESCUE Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 , this one is SPF 30, has UVB, and blue light protection as well as light coverage of a tinted moisturizer. This is an oil-free, mineral-based, noncomedogenic, hydrating formula. This formula contains hyaluronic acid, antioxidants, and Vitamin C to keep your skin hydrated, and bright all day long. This is the perfect skincare and makeup combo! You get a hint of coverage and SPF 30 to keep your skin safe from the suns rays.
3. Supergoop has 2 sunscreens that I love! The first one, The Glow Stick, is great for normal to dry skin types. This gives amazing hydration and shine! The Glow Stick leaves your skin looking wet and dewy and also has SPF 50! Woot woot! This is an absolute favorite of mine! I will always have this in my bag.
4. The second one from Supergoop that I love – great for all skin types but especially for oily skin – The Unseen Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 40. This one is a really beautiful mattifying, lightweight SPF and has a silicone texture to it. This one is great for beach days or pool days! It is water and sweat resistant! It is also great under foundations. It is colorless, scentless, oil-free, smooths out pores, and stays in place all day with spf 40! Great for protecting your skin from the harsh sun.
5.  Lastly, I have my good old Exuviance Day Repair. This is an amazing face cream and SPF in one! It is definitely on the more pricey side of the spectrum but it is a great 2 in 1 product! It leaves the skin feeling super nourished, hydrated, and protected. If you are results-driven, this is your guy. It Improves firmness, hydration, and is created to help even out the skin’s complexion by targeting uneven pigments in the skin. It is also SPF 30!
