Simple Self Tanning Routine

There is nothing quite like the feeling of being sunkissed, it makes your makeup look better, you feel sexier, it’s all over one of my favorite feelings. When fall comes around I love pulling out my faux tanning products to give me my summer glow back!

The Products You Will Need:

  1. Exfoliation Mitt and/or a Body Scrub
  2. A Barrier Cream
  3. Faux Tanning Product of Choice

Before you start, make sure you are freshly shaved! You don’t want to apply the product and then shave it off. ( Note: Shaving is a form of exfoliation so If you do shave right before applying the product skip step one! )

  1. I always start with exfoliation! I like to start with a dry mitt and body scrub to make sure I remove any and all dead skin to avoid product build-up and potential patchiness. I will link my two favorite products here: OUAI Body Scrub and a Spa Exfoliation Mitt.
  2. Next, I apply my barrier cream. This can be anything from body butter to a lotion. I like to add this to my hands, between my toes, my ankles, knees, and elbows. Place a barrier cream anywhere your tanning product could potentially collect. This is to avoid streaks or dark patches of color. I personally love just using my Jergens Hydrating Coconut Lotion.
  3. Lastly, get a gentle Tanning Mitt to apply the product evenly throughout the body and then remove your gloves and apply a small amount of tanning product to your lotioned hands. My favorite tanning products are linked here for you: TanLuxe The Gradual Illuminating Lotion and Isle of Paradise Self Tanning Color Drops.

After everything is applied you are all set. I put on an oversized PJ Dress and head to bed! By morning you will have that perfect sunkissed glow!
